Our monetary collection for Outreach in November will go to www.Homesforthebrave.org, a veteran's charity based in Bridgeport. Homes for the Brave (HFTB), opened in 2002, provides transitional living for homeless Veterans with 37 beds designated for Veterans. The staff at HFTB is dedicated to helping every individual realize his goals for housing, employment, and independent living. Residents establish goals in the areas of housing, income, and self-determination. Based on the individual’s needs, they will also attend living skills classes, pre-employment workshops, and computer classes. If residents cannot work, the staff encourages them to find volunteer and other meaningful opportunities in the community.

Donations can be made online by clicking the link below (choose “Homes for the Brave” from the drop-down) or by visiting the Outreach table at Coffee Hour each week after worship.

Please donate your gently used coats of any size for our annual coat drive and spread the word to your friends and neighbors. There is a collection box on the table in the Gathering Room. We will deliver the coats to 2 charities in Waterbury who will distribute them to those in need. The deadline is November 30th.

We are collaborating with the Senior Center to provide holiday cheer baskets for those in need of a holiday boost. We will have a table during coffee hour with suggestions of possible items and for your donations. The deadline is November 30th. Thank you all for your continued support of our Outreach programs.
