The 26th Annual Apple Festival, sponsored by the South Britain Congregational Church, 693 South Britain Road, Southbury CT, will be held on Saturday, September 22 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
One of the highlights of the Festival will be sale of homemade apple pies made by the members of the church. Other homemade baked goods will also be available. The luncheon will feature BBQ pulled pork sandwiches, hamburgers, sandwiches and apple crisp and pumpkin pie for dessert. Vegetarian gluten-free food will be offered as well. An outdoor snack bar will be available for the occasional hunger breaks and will feature slices of apple pie, apple dumplings; cider apple dumplings. Hot dogs will also be available.
The festival will include many family-friendly events to help guests enjoy the celebration. The White Elephant room always has treasures for the bargain hunter. The Country Store will feature hand-crafted bird houses, apples and cider. Other booths and activities include a Book Room, a ladies Accessories Room, Jewelry Boutique, Mainly Men Shop, and the ever-popular Pick-A-Prize. The Silent Auction will feature specialty items on which to bid. Local arts and crafts vendors will be selling items as well. Chances will be sold for a queen-size quilt made by the church’s Knit Wits.
Special children’s activities will be available in Kid’s World where face painting, games and prizes will be offered throughout the day. A big favorite is the infamous Dunk Tank. Local celebrities are scheduled for dunking in the Tank throughout the day

There is plenty of free parking and no admission fee is charged. All are welcome for a fun country festival.
